Sealite is pleased to announce its partnership with global satellite communications company Iridium Communications. This partnership will provide Sealite customers with advanced monitoring and control, plus asset management features via satellite technology, anywhere in the world.

Sealite collaborated with Iridium for the new asset management and monitoring and control service, Star2M®. A wholly owned subsidiary of Sealite, Star2M® is established as Sealite’s exclusive two-way communication and asset management service of marine and aviation assets. The Iridium® satellite network allows Star2M® assets to be monitored and controlled anywhere on earth, plus an advanced asset management module via a software portal allows for total management of the aids to navigation asset network.

Iridium® is the only truly global satellite communications network that provides reliable pole-to-pole voice and data connectivity via a sophisticated satellite network. It operates using the world’s largest commercial communications constellation, comprising 66 Low-Earth Orbit satellites (LEO). As a LEO constellation, Iridium® satellites have a shorter transmission path to user devices, resulting in increased signal strength, lower latency and the ability to create small-form-factor, cost-effective end-user devices. Iridium® provides Sealite and other global organisations with secure uninterrupted two-way connectivity across land, sea and air.

“We are proud to partner with Iridium, the world leader in two-way satellite connectivity and to bring our customers the ability to easily monitor and control their assets wherever they are in the world, anywhere, anytime. This premium satellite communication service as part of Star2M®, is the future of aids to navigation monitoring and asset management globally,” commented Michael Walker, Head of Global Sales and Marketing.

The collaboration with Iridium establishes a new era of satellite monitoring for customers, via the furthest reaching, most reliable mobile satellite communications network in the world and we are delighted to be in partnership.
