Sealite Announces Launch of New Company, Star2M

Sealite is proud to announce the launch of Star2M, a new asset management, monitoring, and control service. Star2M is a wholly owned subsidiary of Sealite, established to provide a two-way communication and asset management service for marine and aviation assets, and beyond.

Cloud based, Star2M utilises military-grade encryption for data security, and has established an exclusive partnership with Iridium^® Communications, the only truly global low-orbit satellite communications network for reliable pole-to-pole data connectivity. Communication within the Iridium satellite network is secure, two-way, has low latency and offers uninterrupted coverage with increased signal strength, for customers anywhere in the world.

The Star2M advanced asset management module via our software portal allows for total management of an Aids to Navigation network. The improved visibility, control, management and reporting of both physical and virtual assets can lead to operational efficiency and improved accountability for many asset managers, from the convenience of their desktop or portable device.

The Star2M monitoring and control functionality significantly speeds up the process for setting up and grouping assets, creating alerts, applying watch zones, and accessing diagnostic information.  Star2M has been designed for use with satellite ready devices, however is highly versatile when it comes to existing customer data and assets. Users can manually enter asset information, migrate across GSM compatible assets, and even transfer data between third party systems via an API with ease.

Further efficiencies can be gained by using Star2M for asset management whereby service personnel can easily submit their reports during maintenance visits. Over time, the data can be used as a powerful reporting tool for asset managers, including the scheduling of preventative maintenance visits.
