Sealite’s New 7-11NM ODSL Sector Lantern Out Now

Sealite’s product range expansion continues with the release of the SL-ODSL. This model is a two-tier Omni-Directional Sector Lantern with a range of 7-11NM.

The SL-ODSL offers far greater range than comparative ODSL models with an intensity of up to 2600cd in white, in only two-tiers. This is achieved with the use of an enhanced refractive optic and lens design, whereby light is projected only where it is needed. The design allows for a greater optical range to be achieved for all sectors as well as offering greater power efficiency.

Sealite’s SL-ODSL features:

• 7-11NM visible range with 3-degree divergence.
• Up to 2600 candelas in white, 1800 in green, 1400 in red.
• < 0.5 degree boundary resolution
• Star2M^® proprietary platform (pending)
• Externally fitted AIS type 1 or type 3, as an option.

In addition, Bluetooth^® connectivity via the SealitePro^® App and GPS synchronisation are supplied as standard features.

The SL-ODSL integrates with Star2M, our secure asset management, monitoring and control service. This provides Aid to Navigation managers visibility and control of their assets anywhere, anytime.

The sector lantern has a much smaller product footprint in both diameter and height than comparative ODSL lanterns. This makes it easier for installers and service staff to transport, set up and commission the unit.

Sealite’s SL-ODSL is suitable for any customer requiring a marine sector lantern up to 11NM. The standard mounting configurations make this model a great option for new installations or as a replacement for aging AtoNs.

This lantern can be used in a variety of applications including harbour and channel entrances, pier ends and for positioning on remote islands or islets where remote monitoring and control is critical.
